Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty is one of the best loved classical ballets, combining in a single work all the enchantment and virtuosity that ballet has to offer. The wicked fairy Carabosse curses Princess Aurora to prick her finger on a spindle and sleep away her life. Only a kiss from a prince can break the spell and awaken the sleeping beauty. The bewitching and dark fairy-tale is brought to life in Martin Schläpfer’s new production at the Vienna State Opera.
