Tom Morris' production of Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo is a big, eye catching, opulent affair. Stefan Gottfried conducts a cast led by baritone Georg Nigl in the title role of Orfeo, the grieving lover on a quest through the underworld. Patricia Nolz sings the triple role of La musica / La speranza / Eco, Slávka Zámečníková is Euridice, and Christina Bock is Proserpina.
